Teachers' Appreciation Dinner
On Sunday, Sept 7, PHUMC will show our appreciation to, and celebrate, our teachers, nursery workers, and summer camp volunteers. All those who have served, and are currently serving, in one of these areas and anyone interested in teaching or working with our children in the upcoming year are invited to join us for an Appreciation Dinner at 6 p.m. at our Outreach Center. This will be a great opportunity for our veteran teachers and our potential new volunteers to meet each other and share ideas.



Race for the Cure
Point Hope UMC has formed a team for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. The Race will be held on October 18 on Daniel Island. This is a great opportunity to support a cause that affects millions of people and represent Point Hope out in the community. Registration is $20 per walker/runner and children under the age of five are free. If you would like to join our team, e-mail Jessica Johnston at johnston1117@gmail.com. Largest Baby Shower and Ladies Night Out
All the ladies of the church are invited to the Ladies' Night Out tentatively set for Sept. 9. We will order food at the Outreach Center and bring a shower gift for Lowcountry women in need. All donations will be made available to Newborns in Need. Learn more about this mission activity. RSVP to Bonnie Lawrence if you plan to attend.



Events This Fall
Beth Moore Bible Study and Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University will be offered through the church. If interested in either one of these, please contact the church office at (843) 971-6377. A free preview of Financial Peace University Class will be held on August 28 at 6 p.m. at our Outreach Center. Class schedule will be Thursdays at 6 p.m. starting on Sept. 11 for 13 weeks. $99 per household (scholarships available).



American Red Cross Blood Drive
PHUMC is sponsoring a blood drive that is scheduled for October 7 at our Outreach Center from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. This is a great way to give back to our community.



Point Hope Selects Architectural Firm
Point Hope United Methodist Church has selected Stubbs Muldrow Herin Architects (SMHa) as the architectural and planning firm for the church's sanctuary building on its 7-acre parcel of land in Park West. Read more.



Bishop's Five Star Award of Excellence
On May 15, 2008, Point Hope United Methodist Church was notified by the Bishop's office that we had received the Bishop's Five Star Award of Excellence. Read more.



Little Picasso Art Classes
Little Picasso Art Classes is led by Emmie Williams. The classes meet every Tuesday from 4-5 p.m. for ages 3-6. Payment is due monthly.

Point Hope's Rev. Cate visits Israel
During the month of Feb. our own Rev. Cate traveled to the Holy Land. Check out the group's blog as they documented their travels. SC to Israel and Back Blog and a video documentary of the trip.



Wednesday Night Round Table Supper
Join us each Wednesday for supper around the table at our Outreach Center in Park West. The catered meal begins at 5:30 p.m. and will be served until 6:30 p.m. The first two programs to be offered on Wednesday nights are children's and adult choir practices. The children will practice from 6:30 to 6:50 p.m. to sing in the worship service on the second Sunday of each month. The adults will begin practice at 7 p.m.



Nifty PHifty Pointers
They're Back!!! Starting in May and continuing through August, join this somewhat mature group for an evening of food, fun and fellowship for those who admit to being fifty or older. This group will meet the first Thursday of each month. For more information, contact Gloria Squires at (843) 856-0100.

PHellowship Dinner
Join us the last Sunday of each month for a PHellowship Dinner following our morning worship service. It's a great time to catch up on church activities, share in God's fellowship and enjoy a delicious meal.
