Point Hope is pleased to introduce our pastor Joe Cate. Rev. Cate and his wife, Katie have two children, Addison, age three and Caroline, age one. Prior to joining the Point Hope family, Rev. Cate was associate pastor at John Wesley United Methodist Church on Savannah Highway in Charleston, his second appointment.

Rev. Cate grew up in Rock Hill, South Carolina and attended Woodland United Methodist Church. He graduated from The Citadel in 2000 and moved to Seneca, South Carolina to serve two churches while attending Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta. He completed his seminary degree in 2003 and was ordained at the annual conference this June.

Point Hope is pleased to have Rev. Cate's leadership and guidance as Point Hope United Methodist Church continues to grow and serve the spiritual needs of the northern Mount Pleasant community.
