Being an acolyte is one way children are part of worship at Point Hope.

At Point Hope United Methodist Church, we offer many opportunities for you to volunteer and serve others. Volunteering is a great way to give back and enrich your life and that of others, as well as enriching the life of the church. We use the Volunteer Spot system to allow volunteers to sign up online. Some of the areas where we utilize volunteers, include:

  • Greeters – welcome people as they enter the church and direct first-time guests to Guest Services. They play an important role in the church as many times they are the first person guests see as they come through the doors of Point Hope UMC.
  • Ushers – assist in collecting the offering and help direct people forward for the Lord’s Supper.
  • Acolytes – are children who play an important role by lighting the candles on the altar each Sunday. They also present the offering and lead us out of the church at the end of each service. Learn more about becoming an acolyte.

Many more other important volunteer opportunities are available, including event staff and cooking meals. Visit Volunteer Spot today, to learn more and sign up.
