Point Hope's 2008 Vacation Bible School was a huge success. Thanks to the efforts of Holly Bendure and her team of
volunteers, Point Hope was able to provide a fun and exciting "beach-themed" spiritual and educational experience for more than
30 children. This year's theme was "Beach Party - Surfin' through the Scripture" and was held from June 23-27 at the Point Hope
Outreach Center in Park West. On Sunday, June 22 we held a kick-off party at the Park West pool with lots of fellowship and great
food. The kids had a blast playing in the pool and it was a great way to start off an exciting week of activities.
The focus of the week was having a Beach Be-Attitude. Our kids visited an exciting beach where they learned the
basics of surfing, rode the wave of God's love, and went home each evening with a new "Beach Be-Attitude."
Our "Beach Be-Attitudes" were the basis for each VBS beach outing.
Be obedient
Be kind
Be forgiving
Be bold

Special Offering
All week the children of VBS collected spare change (and even dollar bills) to support our VBS mission project -
Epworth Children's Home. Our VBS
kids raided their parents' pocketbooks and wallets, the sofa cushions and even their own piggy banks to raise $180.71. These proceeds will go toward
birthday parties and presents for the deserving children at Epworth Children's Home. Everyone at Point Hope is so proud of the generosity shown by
our VBS youth.
We hope that everyone involved with VBS enjoyed this year's experience and we look forward to
next year's VBS. This year's will be hard to top but with the love and dedication from Point Hope's youth ministry, we are
excited to see what's in store.
