Dear Point Hope,

WOW. What an amazing service we had last week. We have such a gifted team of staff and volunteers. I am so thankful for each of you. I hated being away but really appreciated my time with my family and the time with the folks in the Alabama-West Florida Conference.

AS you know, the building is definitely a work in progress. It is exciting but also challenging. Thank you in advance for your patience. We are hoping that things will be somewhat back to normal on Sunday or at least by mid-week next week.

I hope you are enjoying our sermon series, “S.H.A.P.E.: Finding and Fulfilling Your Unique Purpose for Life,” and that you are being shaped at Point Hope into the person God created you to be. This is my ongoing prayer for myself and for each of you.

Here are some important things happening this week:

Evelyn Persinger and our Kid’s team of volunteers will have a meeting after church this Sunday. If you serve in kids and are interested in taking a LEAD ROLE, please contact Evelyn at She has a great opportunity for you!

If you are concerned about those in the Coast Guard and want to help, please bring a GAS CARD to the church in increments of $24 to $50. After speaking with Master Sargent Chris Taylor, we have decided the greatest need is gas cards so these amazing service men and women can get to work. If no one is at the church when you drop your gas card off, simply drop it in the white “Birdhouse” near the left side of the church, and we will collect it twice a day. Chris Taylor is the President of the Lowcountry Chief Petty Officer Association and will help distribute the cards.

Additionally, look on Facebook and other media sites and share what we are doing. Point Hope was such a blessing to so many during Hurricane Florence, we hope we can be that again by providing gas resulting in transportation and get the word out to our larger community.

In closing, I cannot thank you all enough for your love of God and neighbor by the way you weekly love and care for one another. Please see the attached pictures of some of the greatest servant leaders. You all are the best.

Much love to each of you in Christ,

Pastor Elizabeth
