Petting Zoo featuring Baby Chicks, Bunnies, and Goats & Adoptable Dogs/Puppies from Charleston Animal Society
Join us following our Contemporary Worship Service for photo ops and petting zoo featuring baby bunnies, goats, and chicks from All Thing Acre!
We will also have dogs and puppies available for adoption from the Charleston Animal Society!
Live Nativity
Point Hope Church, located at 3404 Turgot Lane in north Mount Pleasant, is offering a FREE event featuring a Live Nativity on church grounds on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. The interactive display will feature a donkey, camel, sheep and other animals. Please follow the sidewalk along either side of the church to access the rear lawn where families and friends can spend time with animals, taking photos and enjoy a hot cup of cocoa.
Immediately following the Live Nativity will be our family-focused Christmas Eve GLOW service at 3:00 p.m. We also offer a traditional, candlelight service at 5:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve. All are invited to attend! Overflow parking is available at the Park West Recreation Center. From there, please follow the path around the pond which will lead you directly to the church.
Advent at Point Hope
This holiday season we are celebrating The Best Christmas Ever at Point Hope Church. Advent starts on Sunday, Nov. 26th with 9:30 a.m. services through Sunday, Dec. 17th. On December 17th we will have our special Christmas Cantata.
Christmas Eve services will be at 3:00 p.m. which is a fun, contemporary service for families. At 5:00 p.m. we will have a traditional candlelight service.
Services are open to anyone! We would love to have visit Point Hope this season.
Healing & Prayer Service
You are invited to stay immediately after the service as we pray for healing. This is open to anyone, but especially those who seek healing through prayer.
American Red Cross Blood Drive
We will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, September 30th from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at the church in the Gathering Hall. They are anticipating losing up to 7,000 units of blood between September-December because of school plan changes with colleges and high schools. Those drives help make up 20% of blood supply, so we are so appreciative of your support in helping us save lives!
Easter at Point Hope
Join us on Facebook this Easter! Our traditional service is at 9:30 a.m. Then, at 11:00 a.m., you’re invited to sing along with our praise band at the contemporary service.

Reverse Drive Thru
Cub Scout Pack 505 is hosting a “Reverse Drive-Thru” Food Drive at Point Hope United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 28th from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. to benefit the OCEAN GROVE UMC FOOD PANTRY which serves local families in Awendaw. Drop off items on the metal rolling carts. No one will be outside, but will gather the food once the event is over.
The Food Pantry needs the following nonperishable items: rice, beans, canned vegetables, soups, canned chicken and tuna, spam, peanut butter and jelly, crackers, cereal, pasta, spaghetti sauce, Velveeta, parmesan cheese, and macaroni and cheese.

Men's Breakfast
Men! Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 8th at 9:30 a.m. There will be a breakfast (at the church) and we will hear from Point Hope members Tim Clark and Jamie Holcombe about our Bahamas relief effort last fall. They know The Bahamas and its people very well and can give us some insight into how the recovery is going now. We’re also going to share some ideas about how the men of Point Hope can come together to serve Christ in our church and community. If interested, please email Greg Johnson to reserve a spot.
Candlelight Christmas Eve Service
Join Point Hope for a special candlelight Christmas Eve service as we celebrate the light of Christmas. Our traditional Christmas Eve service includes lighting the Advent candles in a comforting and inspiring setting. Let the flames throughout the sanctuary spread the wonder of the season. This service is a beautiful memory-maker that our families look forward to year after year.
Contemporary Family Christmas Eve Service
All are welcome to join us for a special Christmas Eve service as we celebrate the season of hope. Together, we will celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ with beautiful Christmas carols, engaging service and fellowship with one another. Oh…we almost forgot…we’ll have glowsticks and cookies too!
Christmas Cantata & Fellowship Luncheon
Join us for a special Christmas Cantata at 9:30 a.m. After our 9:30 a.m. service, we will have a fellowship brunch then following our Contemporary Worship Service at 11 a.m. we will host a fellowship luncheon as well. The church will provide the ham. Feel free to bring your favorite potluck dish as we share time together during the holiday season.
Kids Christmas Event
Parents - enjoy some kid-free shopping while your little one experiences the real meaning of Christmas! Kids will enjoy making crafts, cookie decorating, musical skits, Bible story time and much more! Families are invited to join us in worship on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 11 a.m. to hear the kids sing.
